This wine seems to excel more in marketing than winemaking. The sleek bottle has a design of a growing grapevine emphasizing its root system. Roots: 1, a winery in the Colchagua Valley in Chilean wine country bases its image around roots as the most important element in forming the character of a wine. Vines from Roots:1 are old and have not been grafted like many other wineries.

Although their idea seems intriguing the 2007 Cabernet was disappointing despite the label description promising "a rich red wine with black currant, mocha and cherry flavors".
