La Yunta Torrontés
Torrontés is one of the most refreshing middle-of-a-hot-summer-day wines out there. Emblematic of Argentina's north, Torrontés is starting to grace tables in the northern hemisphere, and Denver wine shops are carrying it more and more. Unfortunately, La Yunta's Torrontés is a poor example of the varietal. While it's nice and aromatic, the taste comes far too close to vinegar. The person I shared the bottle with was slighty more direct, "Well, I guess technically it's wine, but an insult to Torrontés!"
For just a few dollars more, I recommend the Tomero Torrontés which beautifully showcases what a Torrontés can be.
