Merlot

While Concha y Toro's line Casillero del Diablo has been a hot seller for value wines, this 2007 Reserve Merlot was nothing special: unbalanced and ultimately forgettable.

For price to quality, the Beta Crux is an exceptional wine with its dark fruit flavors, vanilla flavors and aroma and softness in the mouth.

Estepa's 2004 Merlot is nothing exciting, but has an intense jammy fruit flavor. Compared to other wines coming out of Argentina, Estepa's Merlot is quite unmemorable.

Once again, Vistalba doesn't disappoint. This wine is soft, smooth and mellow with subtle hints of roble (oak).
