| Doña Paula Estate | 2005, Malbec |
Doña Paula's 2005 Malbec impressed me: it's smooth, balanced, rich, with a nice aroma of vanilla. Mmmmmm! |

| Ravanal | 2006, Carmenére |
Chilean Carmenéres certainly have a distinctive flavor, but this 2006 Carmenére is not the best Chile has to offer. |

| Estepa | 2004, Merlot |
Estepa's 2004 Merlot is nothing exciting, but has an intense jammy fruit flavor. Compared to other wines coming out of Argentina, Estepa's Merlot is quite unmemorable. |

| Gimenez Rilli | 2006, Torrontes |
For the price, this is a great example of the Argentine Torrontes wine. Reasonably strong aromas with an appropriately sweet mouth. Perfect. |

| O. Fournier | 2006, Torrontes |
This tasty varietal is one of the best hot summer day wines possible. While my favorite is from Tomero or Mounier, Urban Uco's Torrontés is a good value and refreshing white. |

| Montes | 2007, Chardonnay |
This delightful wine is simple and elegant, a perfect summer value wine from the Colchagua Valley in Chile. The golden elixir balances the typical buttery chardonnay with some nice fruit flavors. |

Torrontés is one of the most refreshing middle-of-a-hot-summer-day wines out there. |

| Bodega Vistalba - Carlos Pulenta Wines | 2005, Malbec, Merlot |
Once again, Vistalba doesn't disappoint. This wine is soft, smooth and mellow with subtle hints of roble (oak). |

| Bodega Vistalba - Carlos Pulenta Wines | 2006, Torrontes |
Torrontes are almost always satisfying. The grape is just amazingly great at providing an intensely sweet, flowery bouquet without the overly sweet taste. |

| Bodega Lurton aka Land of Fire aka Tierra del Fuego | 2006, White Table Wine |
Delicious white wine - strong fruity bouquet with a not-overly-sweet taste and buttery texture. |
